Creed:

Arizona Stuttering Group

Welcome to the Central Arizona Chapter of the National Stuttering Association (the NSA). The NSA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope, dignity, support, education, and empowerment to children and adults who stutter, and to the ones who care about us.

If you are a person who stutters or have a special interest in stuttering, you are welcome here. For the next 1 1/2 hours we meet here, this room is meant to be a very comfortable place.

  • It is a place where you are accepted and supported
  • It is a place where you can participate or just say pass and listen
  • It is a place where you can stutter openly without fear or embarrassment
  • It is a place where you can choose to practice whatever communication techniques you feel comfortable with
  • It is a place to ask for advice but not to give advice unless asked
  • It is a place where what is said here stays here-so speak freely

  • We are so glad you're here so we can continue to accomplish these goals and to support each other on our journeys with stuttering. As the NSA motto says, "If you stutter, you are not alone!"

May the spirit we have shared tonight help our speech in the coming weeks, until we meet again. May we go forth gladly into speaking situations, without force or struggle, accepting ourselves regardless of fluency, and always listening to the music of our voices.

WE NEED YOU HERE so we can continue to accomplish these goals and to support each other on our journey with stuttering. We hope you will keep coming back and become a long time member of our Central Arizona NSA Chapter because (everyone please say with me) "If you stutter, you are not alone".
